ScrapFest 2011

I just got back from ScrapFest 2011 at the Mall of America in Minnesota.  What a trip!  I took a couple classes, learned some new techniques and hopefully got my scrappin' mojo back.  I haven't been a frequent visitor to my own scrap room and that needs to change!!!  Once I put away all of my goodies from the trip and organize my space a little better, I am going to try doing a better job of scrapping more often.  It's therapeutic, a stress reliever and it just makes me happy.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention.  I got to meet Liz Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) and Amy Tangerine (American Crafts designer) at ScrapFest.  I took Liz's class and learned how to make pinwheels... SO cute... I'm addicted.  She was a fun instructor and even pulled my name for a prize at the end of class!  WOO to the HOO!!!  Amy Tan was helping out with Liz's class and was nice enough to show me the mini book she was putting together about ScrapFest.  After seeing hers, I totally had to buy one.  You'll want one, too, after you see them.  You can check out a video here.  Liz and Amy were both so charming and friendly.  I also saw Kelly Purkey (American Crafts/Studio Calico) and Becky Higgins (Project Life extraordinaire) for the second time in my life and I was just as enchanted as the first time I met them.  Kelly was demonstrating the Mister Huey's Color Mists... what a cool product with so many different uses!  Kelly also gave me a peek into her mini book which was just as cute as Amy's.  While I was chatting with Becky, I told her that I brought my 2010 Project Life album with me to get caught up.  She instantly whipped out her iPhone and asked me to do a quick video.  If I end up on Becky Higgins' blog, I just might PASS OUT!!!  (Update... I DID end up on Becky's blog!  O-M-G!  Check this out!

Anyway, the weekend with my BFF, Denise, was so memorable and I'm glad to be reunited with my scrappin' mojo once again.  Here's to many fabulous layouts in the VERY near future!!!!
